A robber fleeing from police, jumped the curb with his car, killing a woman and her three children, The Philadelphia Daily News reports. “He literally cut a tree in half and then hit the 1-year-old, [who] was in a stroller,” Police Commissioner Charles H. Ramsey told the newspaper. “The other individuals were on the front porch of their own home. He struck with such force that it knocked the concrete steps loose.” Killed in the accident were Latoya Smith, 22; Smith’s daughter, Remedy Smith, who would have turned 1 on Friday; Alicia Griffin, 6; and Gina Rosario, 7, Clark said. I am in need of answers and maybe you can help me out. This is the letter I wrote to Radio One, they are the people that sponsored this fundraiser.
I am a close friend of Tammy Rosario Gina’s mother. Tammy’s mom Sandra and my mom are best friends, They have been that way sense 1971. Yes this all was a horrible tragedy and are families are being there for each other so that we can get through this. But what I want to know is, Radio One are you aware of the fact that the special fundraiser you guys ran to help with the funerals of the victims. Well I can’t speak for all the victims families but as for Gina’s family they did not receive a dime of the money that was raised. Even though you might say who am I, and why do I have so many questions? But I feel like I have to be the voice of the Rosario/Perez family. Sandra the grandmother said that it was O.K. because we where still able to give Gina a beautiful funeral. Why I say we is because all her family and friends got together and put up money to pay for this funeral with help from the money that mayor Nutter gave. No I am not asking for money from you now. It’s just that I feel like it was wrong that this family didn’t receive the help that you guys said you where going to give them. You held a special fundraiser event to help offset the funeral expenses for the four victims Latoya Smith, 22; her daughter Remedy Smith, Alicia Griffin, 6, and Gina Marie Rosario, 7 who were senselessly killed in the Feltonville. These where your own words none was added so why didn’t Gina’s family receive anything? I don’t know if the church had anything to do with this or not. I sure hope this is all a big misunderstanding. And I hope and pray that this is not a race thing because I am black and I consider Tammy as my sister. Can somebody please answer my questions? I am going to contact any and everybody that I can until I get an answer. So look forward to hearing from me again. Peace be with you.
